Information About Botox Treatment

Botox treatments have become commonplace for Hollywood stars. While many actors may be reluctant to admit it, nearly every actor over the age of 40 has likely received botox treatment. Even younger stars choose to inject botox into their foreheads or around their eyes. It turns out that a well-known reality TV star performed the procedure in one of the episodes.

The treatment itself is relatively painless and is usually done in a doctor's office. When using analgesic creams, the treatment itself causes little, if any, pain or discomfort. How Botox works

It may sound a little scary, but botox actually paralyzes the muscles that keep them from moving. Usually, if you have a Botox procedure, you will see the results within one week of the procedure. The results should last at least 3 months but not more than 6 months. The reason you can no longer see Botox results is because over time the natural proteins in Botox are absorbed by the body and the debilitating effects no longer work.

The order

Botox is injected using a sterile needle in a doctor's office or medical spa which is controlled by a doctor. This will need to be done by someone who is Botox certified – in other words someone who has been specially trained to administer injections.

The process usually takes up to 20 minutes. It is important to inject botox in the right places. Your doctor or someone in the practice who is Botox certified will first mark your face and show you the Botox injection site. These points are where your facial muscles contract – not necessarily the lines or wrinkles you want to get rid of. Botox is injected into the area marked with a very fine needle just under the skin.
