What is the orthodontists role?

Orthodontic treatment can be used to correct a wide variety of dental and jaw problems. Some common conditions that orthodontists treat include:

• crooked teeth

• crowded teeth

• incorrect bite (e.g., overbite, underbite)

• jaw misalignment

Types of treatments for adults

There are a few different types of Orthodontic treatments  that are available for adults. The most common type is braces, which are used to correct the alignment of the teeth. Other types of treatments include clear aligners, which are less visible than braces, and invisible braces, which are completely hidden from view.

What Types of Orthodontic Treatments Are There?

There are a variety of orthodontic treatments available to patients, each with its own set of benefits and drawbacks. Some of the most common types of treatments include:

Braces: Braces are the most traditional form of orthodontic treatment, and have been used effectively for many years. However, they can be uncomfortable and require regular adjustments.

Invisalign: Invisalign is a newer type of treatment that uses clear, removable aligners instead of metal braces. This can be a more comfortable option for some patients, but it is also more expensive.

Retainers: Retainers are often used after other forms of orthodontic treatment to help keep the teeth in their new position. They can be worn full-time or just at night, depending on the patient’s needs.

Headgear: Headgear is sometimes used in conjunction with braces to help move the teeth into their desired position. It is generally worn for a few hours each day and can be uncomfortable for some patients.
